We may change these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated Terms on FANZO and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of FANZO after any change takes effect is acceptance of the revised Terms. Nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Acceptable use
You agree that your use of FANZO will comply with the following:
- You will not copy, download, reproduce, republish, frame, broadcast, or transmit in any manner any material on FANZO except as strictly necessary for your own personal, non-commercial home use.
- You will abide by the specific rules of any competition or promotion that you participate in on or via FANZO. You will not create, or attempt to create, multiple accounts.

We do not endorse, and are not responsible or liable for, any content, advertising, products, or services on such third party websites. Any dealings between you and third party advertisers or merchants found on or via FANZO are made solely between you and the relevant advertiser or merchant, and we are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from those dealings.

You also undertake not to use FANZO to check or verify any similar databases.
If you become aware of any distribution or commercial exploitation in breach of this section, you agree to notify us immediately.
Policy and approach to trade marks and logos
-
Description and source. We may incorporate logos of sports teams, competitions, or governing bodies on our platforms and on partner or client platforms for specific, non-commercial identification purposes.
-
Purpose of use. Our use is to identify the relevant sports team, competition, or body and provide accurate visual context to our content. It is not intended to indicate any partnership between FANZO (or any of FANZO's partners or clients) and the relevant rights holder.
-
Fair dealing. Our use is grounded in the principles of fair dealing under the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (in particular section 30 for reporting current events) and the defences to trade mark infringement under the Trade Marks Act 1994 where the use is in accordance with honest practices in industrial or commercial matters:
- Purpose and character: our use is informational, typically reporting on upcoming or recent events;
- Nature of the work: the logos serve as well-known identifiers for their respective teams, competitions, or bodies;
- Amount and substantiality: only the essential portions of the logos are featured, without alteration; and
- Effect on the market: our use does not substitute for or adversely affect the value of the original.
-
Respect for rights. Our objective is to use logos in a way that respects the underlying rights and the value of the teams, competitions, or bodies represented.
-
Disputes. Any rights holder who believes that our use infringes their rights should contact [email protected], and we will review, engage, and where appropriate take corrective action (including removal or modification).
Illegal and harmful content
We operate FANZO as a user-to-user service under the Online Safety Act 2023. We have in place proportionate systems and processes to identify, assess, and mitigate the risk of illegal content appearing on the Services. If you encounter content you believe is illegal, defamatory, or otherwise in breach of these Terms, you can report it using the in-app "Report" function or by emailing [email protected]. We will acknowledge all reports and, where appropriate, remove or restrict access to the reported content.
The following categories of content are prohibited on FANZO:
- Content that is unlawful under English or Welsh law, including content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or constitutes hate speech;
- Content that depicts, promotes, or encourages illegal activity, violence, terrorism, or self-harm;
- Child sexual abuse material or any content that sexualises children;
- Fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive content, including fake reviews and artificial endorsements;
- Content that infringes any person's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- Spam, malware, or content that compromises the security of the Services.
We may, at our discretion, suspend or terminate any user's access, remove content, or require a user to remove content where it appears to us or to a complainant to breach these Terms.
Liability for information on FANZO
We are not responsible or liable for the content, accuracy, timing, or reliability of information or statements on FANZO.
We endeavour to provide FANZO with reasonable care but we rely on subscriber venues to upload correct and up-to-date information.
Except as required by law, we do not warrant the quality, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of FANZO, and we do not promise that the match information or material on FANZO, or any of its functions or servers, will operate without interruption or delay, be error-free, be free of viruses or bugs, or be compatible with any other software.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law, including your non-waivable statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to the paragraph above, we will not be liable to you for any loss that is not reasonably foreseeable at the time you agree to these Terms, and our total aggregate liability to you in respect of all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) is limited to £100 for consumers, or the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability for non-consumers.
Complaints
If you wish to complain about any aspect of the FANZO service, contact us by email at [email protected] or in writing to MatchPint Limited, 3A Westbourne Road, Islington, London N7 8AR.
If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, consumers can access online dispute resolution via the European Commission's ODR platform (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) where available, or contact Citizens Advice (https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk).
Misuse of the FANZO service
Venues are able to promote their venue with wording of their choice. Since this is free text, we ask that all our customers promote their venues responsibly.
You are responsible for ensuring that any material you post, and any activity or communication you make in connection with the FANZO service, does not breach any applicable law, infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person, or appear to be false, libellous, offensive, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, unreliable, or misleading.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any user's access, and to remove or require the removal of material posted on FANZO, if the user or material appears to us or to a complainant to breach these Terms.
Any attempts to circumvent the platform via force, scripts, automated devices, multiple accounts, or similar means will be treated as a direct violation of these Terms. We reserve the right to permanently ban any person in breach.
If any third party sites are linked from the FANZO service, this does not mean we endorse or take responsibility for them.
All copyrights, trade marks, database rights, and other intellectual property rights in and relating to the FANZO service (including material contributed by users) are owned by MatchPint Limited or its licensors. No one may copy, distribute, publicly display, or create any derivative work from the FANZO service unless properly licensed by us.
Operation of the FANZO service
We reserve the right to withdraw or modify aspects of the FANZO service, or the entirety of it, for legal or commercial reasons. There may be times when the FANZO service is inaccessible due to technical difficulties experienced by us or on the Internet. We will use reasonable skill and care to overcome these difficulties where they are within our control.
Submitting ratings and reviews
We offer ratings and reviews to help users make informed decisions about venues. By submitting a rating or review you agree to the following, which operate in addition to our general "Acceptable use" section. Posting fake, misleading, or dishonestly-incentivised reviews is prohibited and is an unfair commercial practice under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to submit a review. By submitting a review you confirm that you have personally visited the venue you are reviewing.
Content standards. Detailed guidelines are at https://www.fanzo.com/en/review-guidelines. Reviews must be honest, accurate, and reflect your personal experience. They must not contain offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language, and must not be defamatory, obscene, or unlawful. Do not include personal or sensitive information about yourself or others.
Star ratings and written feedback. You may submit a star rating, written feedback, or both. Star ratings should accurately reflect your overall experience.
Prohibited activities. Posting fake, misleading, or fabricated reviews is strictly prohibited. You must not publish a review that has been incentivised (including by a discount, money, free goods or services, or other benefit) unless you clearly and prominently disclose the incentive in the review itself, in accordance with the DMCC Act 2024 and the CAP Code. Do not spam the platform with repetitive or irrelevant reviews.
Intellectual property. By submitting a review, you grant us a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute your content on our platform and in related promotional materials. You confirm that your review is your original work and does not infringe any third-party rights.
Moderation and removal. We reserve the right to moderate and remove reviews that violate these Terms or are otherwise inappropriate, including reviews suspected of being fake, incentivised without disclosure, or procured by the venue itself. Users who submit reviews in breach of these Terms may be permanently banned.
Reporting. If you believe a review breaches these Terms, please report it using the in-app reporting function or by emailing [email protected].
Promotional Rules
Individual competitions and giveaways are governed by their own specific rules and by the general promotional rules below. Where there is any conflict between the specific rules for a promotion and these general rules, the specific rules prevail.
Promoter. Unless specified otherwise in the specific rules, the promoter is MatchPint Limited, 3A Westbourne Road, Islington, London N7 8AR.
Eligibility. Unless specified otherwise, entry is open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Employees of the promoter and their immediate families, and employees of any brand partner involved in the promotion, are not eligible to win.
No purchase necessary. Where a promotion would otherwise require payment or a qualifying purchase, a free entry route will be published in the specific rules. This is intended to ensure that the promotion does not constitute a lottery under the Gambling Act 2005.
Prizes. Prizes are as specified in the specific rules. Prizes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and there is no cash alternative unless stated. Prizes can only be delivered within the UK unless specified otherwise. The total prize value and the number of prizes will be specified in the relevant promotion.
Selection of winners. Winners will be selected as specified in the specific rules. The promoter's decision is final, though this does not affect your statutory rights.
Notification. Winners will be notified in the manner and within the timeframe specified in the specific rules, which will set out an expiry period of at least 14 days for the winner to respond and claim the prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within the specified timeframe, the promoter reserves the right to select another winner.
Use of winners' details. Winners consent to their first name and town being published on the Services and made available on request to anyone who writes to the promoter enclosing a stamped addressed envelope, in accordance with the CAP Code. Participants' personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Cancellation and changes. The promoter reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend any promotion where the promotion cannot be conducted as specified, for reasons outside its control, or where necessary to comply with applicable law.
Governing law. Each promotion, and the specific rules for it, is governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Alcohol-related promotions. Where a promotion relates to alcohol products, participants must be of legal UK drinking age (18+) and must drink responsibly. See www.drinkaware.co.uk.
FANZO Quiz — Additional Rules
These rules apply to the weekly FANZO quiz and operate in addition to the general Promotional Rules above. Internet access and a registered FANZO app account are required.
- We release new quizzes of 10 questions for users to play each week.
- Users have 15 seconds to answer each question. Responses submitted after 15 seconds are counted as incorrect.
- Scores are ranked out of 300 based on accuracy and speed.
- Each participant receives one life. Incorrect answers do not cost a life, but lives can be used to skip a question without impacting your score.
- Additional lives can be earned by (a) sharing a unique referral code, (b) a new user entering the referral code on their FANZO app, after which (c) both users receive an extra life in their quiz wallet. Earning a life is free and does not require any purchase; no consideration is payable to earn, use, or retain lives.
- There is no maximum number of lives a participant can earn.
- To ensure the quiz works correctly, users will need internet connectivity (mobile data or Wi-Fi) and, where a location-based feature is used, device location services enabled.
- Entries must be made personally by the participant through the FANZO app. Entries made by third parties, groups, or agents, and any attempts to circumvent the system (via scripts, automated devices, multiple accounts, or similar means) will be disqualified.
- The promoter is not liable for costs incurred by participants in downloading the app or taking part.
- Participants' personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Participants' first names may be displayed on the Services in public leaderboards.
- Except for liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your non-waivable consumer rights), the promoter excludes liability for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the quiz where there is no breach of a legal duty of care, where the loss or damage is not reasonably foreseeable, where loss or damage results from a participant's breach of these Terms or failure to mitigate, or where the claim is a business loss (i.e., by a participant acting in the course of a trade or business).
- The promoter reserves the right to amend these rules, vary quiz timings, disqualify any entrant in breach, or cancel the quiz at any stage where, in the promoter's reasonable opinion, it is necessary to do so.
- Participants must be 18 or over.
- Where the quiz relates to alcohol products, participants must be of legal UK drinking age. See www.drinkaware.co.uk.
- The promoter's failure to enforce any provision of these rules does not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.
- These rules are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Personal data
Information about our users is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We treat it as confidential and share it only as described in the Privacy Policy or where we are required by law. Third-party payment processors (such as Stripe) are not managed by us and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter. Nothing in this section affects the mandatory rights of consumers under the laws of their country of habitual residence to the extent those rights cannot be waived by agreement.
General
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that or any other provision. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign these Terms to a member of our corporate group or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
