Waxy O'Connors

Waxy O'Connor's is more than just your average Irish pub. This beautifully crafted bar is set over three floors, with six bars and nine spaces, all of which is covered in stunning carpentry which shoots up out of the floors and along the ceiling like a sprawling forest. Elements of church decor include stained glass which adorns the ceilings and walls, old lanterns hanging about, and a stone and brick backdrops. The crowd here ranges from those in for a bite and a pint to groups in to catch a match (GAA is also shown here for Glasgow's Irish contingent). As one of the Glasgow Warriors official pubs, rugby takes a priority during most campaigns. Whilst Scotland and Ireland have strong backing from staff & customers alike, the Welsh fans have also found a home away from home here. The fun party crowd looking to drown in some old-fashioned Irish revelry are welcome here. The menu includes hearty Irish and Scottish favourites and of course the Guinness flows, as does the whisky, but there are beers and spirits available if you don't fancy the house tipples.
