About this venue
Welcome to the Railway Hotel Murchison East – known fondly by locals as “The East.” Our story began in the late 1800s when the hotel was established as Samuel Parkin’s Railway Terminus Hotel, built in 1880 to serve the growing railway community of Murchison East. Back then, the hotel was rated as one of the most comfortable in the Goulburn Valley, welcoming “all classes of the travelling public.” With its safe paddocks, fresh water, and quality stabling, it wasn’t just a pub – it was a place to rest, recharge and reconnect. More than 140 years later, that same spirit lives on.
